rock'n roll 1946

good rockin' tonight/roy brown, 1946

elvis 1953

that was before rock and roll and before commercial tv .... that song came before anything had been invented ... it even came before man had been chased from the garden of eden .... nothing but pure love, then ... elvis recorded two songs for his beloved mother, my happiness in immaculate dean martin style, and this original version of that's when your heartaches begin, a previous hit for the ink spots ...
he would record the song twice, once in 1956 with the million dollar quartet, and the definitive commercial version in 1957 for RCA .... elvis was eighteen, i was ten ... the world had hardly been invented ... anything could happen ... anything ... it would be six years before i actually met the man, before i chased him and located him in paris ... i met him several times ... we talked and talked and talked ... my life never was the same after that ... but to realize that, it took me another 40 or 50 years ...

" invraisemblable ou pas, crois-moi, c'est la vérité -et il n'y en a pas deux ..."
