... if he had become a cantor, a great hazan ... like david roitman (1884 - 1943), who died the very year i was born, and who remains my very favourite cantor along with pinchik and berele chagy (and one of the oldest to have left vinyl traces -his best recordings date from before world war one) ....

... then i imagine my father might have sounded like that ...
