summer 1964

... ... was my second trip to los angeles (this time with my friend serge daney), to try and interview as many great film directors as i could ... i'm really proud to have discussed as long as i did with leo mc carey, one of hollywood's greatest creators of forms and contents that ever lived ... we also met buster keaton, josef von sternberg, george cukor, and my one year old friend samuel fuller ...

the year after, in 1965 (same year i met bob dylan and john wayne), i went to disneyland to interview sf author ray bradbury (he was doing some kind of show there, but i can't remember what it was) ... i also met walt disney himself, who said nothing but stupid things during the whole interview (the tape is lost) ... ... do i absolutely have to say i hated disneyland? ... ah, not completely .... who happened to be performing there this summer? yes, the everly brothers ... my first music love ever .... they were still great after all these rock and harmony years ...
