new york, 1962 (the bronx)

first time i ever went to america was to visit my cousin, tsella, in new york/ she lived in the bronx/near a big park/ dangerous to cross at night, so they said/ i didn't care/ i was 19/ i had guts then/ or something like that/let's call it dreamlike unconscious state/i loved new york/i always did/i still do/ even if i haven't gone there for years
last time was around 1989 ... yes, i think it was 1989 ... around the time bob dylan (one the artists robert frank admires most, with godard) released an album called oh mercy/i don't like it that much/i think it's overproduced/but still you can pick out one or two outtakes/like these ...

what was it you wanted?/political world/1989
in this new york summer of 1989/ i spent four days at robert frank's home/ black door full of tags/ near the CBGB/some dirty socks near my bed/as a strange poetic decoration/we went through a ukrainian market/ then we walked far/ very far/with robert frank's son, pablo, to the chinese ghetto/he was fragile, he was mad, he was poetic/he wanted to see the sea/and we did/man, did it blow my mind ...

Elle est bien cette chanson de Dylan. Mais je ne reconnais pas le texte. Je me trompe?
